This Cookie Policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies on https://octaviangeorgescu.ro/. It should be read with the Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files or similar identifiers that a website may store on a browser or device. They can support essential functions, remember preferences, measure use or enable third-party features.
2. Essential WordPress cookies
WordPress may use strictly necessary cookies for authentication, security and administrative functions. These are generally relevant when an administrator or editor signs in, not as an advertising profile for ordinary visitors. Depending on the WordPress version and configuration, examples include:
wordpress_test_cookie— checks whether the browser accepts cookies during login;wordpress_logged_in_*and related authentication/security cookies — maintain an authenticated WordPress session;wp-settings-*andwp-settings-time-*— remember dashboard preferences for authenticated users.
Names, lifetimes and exact behaviour can vary by WordPress version, security configuration and whether a user selects a “remember me” option. These examples are not a live cookie scan or an exhaustive inventory of the server.
3. Analytics, advertising and embedded services
The custom OG Editorial theme and OG Content Studio components inspected for this release do not intentionally include analytics or advertising tracking scripts.
No analytics or advertising service has been declared in this policy. This does not replace a technical review of all active WordPress plugins, hosting/CDN features and external scripts.
No embedded third-party service has been declared in this policy. Review any video, audio, map, social-feed or other external embeds actually enabled on the live site.
Third-party services, if enabled, may place or access their own cookies or similar identifiers. Non-essential storage/access must not be activated before the user has given valid prior consent where required by applicable law. A suitable consent-management mechanism must be configured before adding analytics, advertising pixels or non-essential embedded technologies.
4. How can you control cookies?
You can view, restrict or delete cookies in your browser’s privacy or site-settings controls. Blocking all cookies may affect login and other necessary functions. Browser controls do not replace a website consent mechanism where one is legally required for optional technologies.
5. Legal basis and applicable rules
Strictly necessary storage/access may fall within the statutory exception for functions that are strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user or to transmit a communication. Non-essential storage/access requires prior consent and clear information under the applicable rules, including Article 4(5)–(6) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004. The GDPR also applies where cookie identifiers constitute or are linked to personal data.
6. Third-party changes
Hosting, security, cache/CDN, spam-protection, analytics, social-media and embedded-content plugins may introduce cookies independently of the theme. The operator should review the live website and update this policy whenever a service is added or removed. For questions, contact contact@octaviangeorgescu.ro.
