What is Interrogative Journalism?

Interrogative Journalism begins with questions rather than assumptions. It examines not only what is being reported, but how a claim is constructed, which evidence supports it, what context may be missing, whose perspectives are absent and what remains uncertain.

Its purpose is not to manufacture doubt or to treat every claim as equally credible. It makes the process of inquiry visible: verify evidence, test explanations, distinguish facts from interpretation, and invite readers to think critically about the conclusions presented.

At Open Press Global, this approach aims to support journalism that is rigorous, transparent and constructive — journalism that goes beyond the headline to ask what we have not yet considered.
